BEACH VOLLEY
Beach volleyball is a popular sport played on a beach or sandy surface and is a variation of traditional indoor volleyball.
The game is played by two teams of two players each, with the objective of sending the ball over the net and landing it on the opponent’s side while preventing the same from happening on their own side.
A beach volleyball court is smaller than a standard indoor volleyball court, measuring 16 × 8 meters, and is divided in the middle by a net 2.43 meters high for men and 2.24 meters high for women.
Matches are played in a best-of-three sets format. The first team to reach 21 points in the first two sets wins the set, and 15 points in the third set if necessary. A minimum lead of two points is required to win a set.
The rules of beach volleyball are straightforward, including limits on ball contacts (a maximum of three touches before sending the ball over the net) and the requirement for players to rotate positions after each point to ensure fairness regarding wind and sun.
Strategy and teamwork are critical aspects of the game, with teams combining technical attacks, defenses, and tactical positioning to gain the advantage.
Beach volleyball is known for its high energy and intensity, as well as the friendly and fun environment in which it is played, attracting large crowds of spectators and participants on beaches worldwide.
